Pretty much any fruit dessert I make lends itself to swapping out whatever fruit I “usually” use for whatever fruit is in season, and therefore most delicious at the time. This recipe is no exception. While any individual berry may only be fully in season for a few weeks, the overall berry season is nice and long, with blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries all coming into season at slightly different times. Feel free to use whatever looks and tastes best to you right now! Makes about 12 (1/2-inch-thick) polenta slices and about 2 cups Compote—DS
