1888 For Almost Dummies: By Robert J. Wieland

    File Size:
    433 KB

“1888” is clothed in an aura of mystery. Why does it keep popping up, and why is it discussed almost with hushed tones as though a skeleton lurked somewhere in our closet? There’s tremendous meaning buried in it. And the One who keeps bringing it up is the Holy Spirit: He will not let it die, even century after century (parts now of three centuries have gone by). It will take the stage more and more as time goes on.

Lambs Against Wolves: By Meade Macguire, -1957

    File Size:
    224 KB

To be a Genuine Christian means to be, in character and life, like Christ. Many who profess to be Christians and are members of a church show little difference in their lives from those who make no profession of religion. But one who, through the grace of Christ and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, has become a real Christian reveals a striking contrast to those who are not true Christians. [136 pages.]

Survey results presented to Unity Oversight Committee: Qualitative Research Continues [Adventist News Network], Mar 23, 2018

    File Size:
    335 KB

The six-question survey was designed and administered by the church’s Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research (ASTR). The survey addressed issues relating to compliance with voted actions of the General Conference Session, the church’s highest decision-making body, and it’s Executive Committee, which meets annually between the quinquennial sessions of the General Conference. “This information will serve as a guide to the Unity Oversight Committee in defining consequences for unions who have not complied with votes of the GC Session and of the GC Executive Committee,” Brothers and sisters SOP has warned us, the Christ Bride [the church] must pass through the Sanctuary and be judged accordingly. We can see the great division in the church now. SOP has warned us, there will not be a [New Church], but a cleansing of the church. The church will appear to fall but it will stand.

The Seventh-day Adventist Evangelical Conferences of 1955-1956: By Adventist Laymen’s Foundation; Second Printing

    File Size:
    6 MB

There remains - still out of reach of research - the original answers given by the Adventist conferees to Barnhouse and Martin. The book - Questions on Doctrine - while purporting to be those answers, is not, but is rather a revision of what was given to these men. Because of this, we must conclude that what Walter Martin and Donald G. Barnhouse have written is an accurate statement of what the Adventist conferees did say to these men, and what the original answers did read as given to them. A careful evaluation of what T. E. Unruh has written reveals that the highest levels of the Adventist hierarchy were involved in the denial of basic, historic Adventist Christology. The list of names reads like a Who's Who of the executive officers of the General Conference at that time.

A Refutation of the Claims of Sunday-keeping to Divine Authority: By J. N. Andrews

    File Size:
    1 MB

As the first day of the week is now almost universally observed in the place of the Sabbath of the fourth commandment, we design in this article to examine the ground on which this observance rests. It is an injunction of the New Testament, that we "prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

To men thus situated, Jehovah thus speaks: "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." 1Thess.5:21. That is, bring every part of your faith and practice to the test of God's sure word; ask the Holy Spirit's aid, that your mind may be delivered from prejudice, and your understanding
